Brian Earp

I was born in New Ferry on the Wirral; our house overlooked the river Mersey, opposite Liverpool docks and waterfront.  From my bedroom I watched the ships from all over the world coming and going.   During the war I watched the same docks lighting up the sky at night, ablaze after the bomb raids.  I was very young but those memories are still vivid in my mind.
I  now have my own Studio situated on the bank of Valley Dam Lake overlooking the mountains of Powys.
I married a local girl, Marina, and we lived on the Wirral until we retired.  Then living out our dream we moved to Mid Wales, where we had spent most of our leisure time fishing and walking in the Snowdonia National Park.   This is where I got my passion for painting mountains and lakes.  I am self taught, so I have developed my own style in oil painting.

I have exhibited at many venues including Powys Castle,  Chirk Castle,  The Heritage Centre in Oswestry, and the tourist centre and Town Hall in Welshpool.  Some of my work is on show at the Lake Vyrnwy Visitors Centre Valley Arts and Crafts shop too.

Here is a picture of Marina standing by a very special painting of the Afon mountains - it is 28ft x 8 ft and was painted for my grandchildren.
